Preschool program

2.5 - 3.5 Years

Our Young Preschool Program is designed to inspire your little learner through hands on play and exploration. 

We follow a daily schedule that includes child directed learning, teacher directed instruction, group work, independent work and outdoor play time. We offer ample time for free play and exploration, which also introducing our students to preschool concepts. This age group is coming out of being a toddler and learning how to communicate more effectively, interact with peers on a more interconnected level and engage in more in-depth play. 

Some of the goals of the curriculum are:

  • To encourage children to be actively involved in the learning process.

  • To prompt children to think creatively.

  • To aide children in asking questions and discovering answers.

  • To encourage children to nurture curiosity and remain enthusiastic about learning.

  • To support children in experiencing success and developing self-confidence through a positive discipline approach.

  • To promote, model and support appropriate social behavior.

Our Young Preschool Program has two large classrooms with a capacity of 16-20 children and two teachers. We ask that children enrolling in this program be toilet trained. If the child is not toiled trained, they can still enroll however there is a $50 a month fee for un-toilet trained children.  

All our programs offer Art Class, Music Class and Spanish Class.*During the pandemic we had to take a break from our official Art and Music Classes, but will re-instill as soon as we feel it is safe. The kids still do Art and Music within their individual classes, just not with our school-wide Art and Music teachers.

MixeD age preschool program

3 - 5 Years

Our Mixed Age Preschool classes are a wonderful opportunity to foster play based learning opportunities through child led exploration and child inspired curriculum.  Research shows there are numerous benefits to mixed age classrooms and most of the top research based preschools now offer a mixed age class.

Benefits of a mixed age setting:

  • Resembles a natural “family” setting

  • Younger children have older role models and are exposed to rich language development through conversation and observation

  • Middle group of children get to be leaders to younger children and also have a helping older friend to lead play opportunities

  • Older children get to be leaders, develop empathy and compassion geared towards helping younger students

  • Varying degrees of independence frees teachers to go where needed

  • Varying assortment of abilities and activities

To introduce early literacy skills including letter recognition, beginning phonics and handwriting skills all through play based, hands on learning opportunities.
